Pocket Wifi
Pocket wifi is the perfect way to connect all your devices to the Internet and do so in a wireless fashion. Why struggle with USB or wired/ethernet connections that can only be used on one device at a time? That’s right, pocket wifi allows the owner to share that connection amongst laptops, mobile phones and tablet computers all at the same time!
Pocket Wifi Check List
This list are the things you should consider before purchasing a wireless hotspot device. Not all tips may apply to your situation but you’ll find some really helpful information that will make it much easier to work out which plan or product is best for you.
1) Look for reviews! What better way to learn about the product than reading reviews from people who have personal experience using the product? Hit up sites such as Youtube and look for video reviews. They’re really information and you can get a feeling whether it will be suitable for your needs
2) Get a $0 upfront modem. Many pocket wifi providers allow you to purchase the modem outright but if you sign up on a 12 or 24 month contract, you can get it for free and even grab a discount on the monthly cost. If you were going to use the device for 12 months, it’s better to go post paid than pre-paid as it works out cheaper in the long and short term.
3) Check your devices are compatible. Newer laptops (circa 2005) have a wireless network card installed within them, so connection to the Internet via your pocket wifi won’t be a problem. Smart phones such as the iPhone and Android ones also have this capability. If you want to use the device with an older machine, you may need to purchase a wireless network card in order to do so but if you already use a wireless router in the home, then you can ignore this step.
When you look at such benefits as being able to have Internet access on the go at a cheap price, pocket wifi just makes good sense.
